You're reading: Lutsenko reports recovering from coronavirus

Former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko announced that he recovered from COVID-19 and was discharged from the hospital the day before.

“Yesterday I was discharged from the hospital. The fight against COVID was won. Thanks to doctors, relatives, friends,” he wrote on his Facebook page on Nov. 10.

At the same time, he expressed his conviction that current Cabinet of Ministers failed to work on countering the pandemic in Ukraine.

“What should have been done by the government during these seven months? 136 new, enlarged regions were created in Ukraine in 2020. The government had to create 136 basic anti-COVID centers,” Lutsenko wrote and reported that this was not done.

He said also that as a result everywhere, especially in villages and regional centers, there is a complete inability to get to the infectious diseases hospital. Free tests are almost impossible everywhere. The deadline for submitting their results is unacceptable. Oxygen is transported from region to region in prehistoric tanks, if any.

“30% of doctors have been ill with COVID-19. No 300% of bonuses are paid; there is not even a corresponding resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers. We must admit total inaction of the authorities. With the available financial resources of the Coronavirus Fight Fund, in which even after road construction there are Hr 30 billion. What to do about it? Answer: kick this government out […] Corruption, more than 10,000 new patients every day, helplessness and lies of the authorities […] What else must happen to realize that the Cabinet of Ministers must leave? Better – together with the parliament of “servants of the people” who formed it and allowed this government criminal inaction,” the politician said.
