Chief of Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office Yuriy Lutsenko says he will fill in and submit his e-declaration on earnings and property according to legal requirements.
“It’ll be submitted before the deadline stipulated in law,” Lutsenko said during a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
Speaking about comments made by MP Serhiy Leshchenko about a house owned by the Lutsenko family in the center of Kyiv, Lutsenko said: “Neither I, nor my wife, nor any members of my family are owners of the house in Kyiv you’re asking. I know nothing about this house.”
MP Leshchenko said during an interview aired by TV Channel 5 on October 23 that the current PGO head “had all his properties signed over stooges.”
Lutsenko on October 24 denied the accusation.
“I have read the latest fantasy being promulgated by MP Leshchenko on the news portal Ukrayinska Pravda … that I own ‘a palatial residence in the center of Kyiv’ that has been signed over to the accountant of my wife,” Lutsenko said.
Ukraine’s National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) approved launching the e-declaration registry on September 1, 2016. According to the law on preventing corruption, full e-declarations must be submitted within 60 days following the launch by public officials who hold top posts. The deadline for submitting e-declaration ends November 1, 2016.
