The court has chosen a measure of restraint for the man, who threatened to blow up the Metro Bridge in Kyiv on June 1, in a form of keeping in custody, a press service of Kyiv prosecutor’s office reported.

“At the request of the Kyiv local prosecutor’s office No. 4, the man who threatened to blow up the Metro Bridge on June 1, 2020, has been chosen a measure of restraint in the form of detention for 60 days with the possibility of release on bail in the amount of Hr 315,000,” reported on Facebook.

The decision was taken by Dniprovsky District Court of Kyiv at its meeting on June 3.

As reported, on June 1, Kyiv Metropoliten received an anonymous call about the bomb threat to the Metro Bridge in Kyiv. A man stood on the bridge and threatened to blow it up. At 3:20 p.m., the police detained him. The man possessed a fake bomb. No one was injured during the operation to detain the suspect.

The lawbreaker is a resident of Kyiv region, born in 1988. The nature of his actions was determined under Part 2 of Article 259 (knowingly false report of a threat to the safety of citizens, preparation of an explosion caused grave consequences) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine that foresees from four to eight years of imprisonment.
