BRUSSELS – EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini intends to discuss bilateral relations and the conflicts in eastern Ukraine and in Syria with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during her upcoming visit to Moscow.
“Today I write from Beijing, the first stop in a long official visit to China, India and Russia. In each country I will discuss our bilateral ties and the great international issues we are dealing with together – from Syria to tensions in the Korean Peninsula,” Mogherini wrote on her online blog.
“My trip will end in Moscow, with my first visit to Russia as the European Union’s High Representative. I plan to meet with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on our bilateral relations, and especially on the current crises, from the conflict in eastern Ukraine to Syria,” she said.
It was reported earlier that Mogherini is expected to visit Moscow on April 24.
