Ukrainian tourists will be able to visit Montenegro, one of the country’s most beloved tourist destinations, without a PCR test. The Minister of Finance and Social Protection of Montenegro, Milojko Spajic, announced the news on Twitter.
“We are pleased to inform you that all restrictive measures, including PCR tests, will be lifted for citizens of the Russian Federation, Belarus, Ukraine and Northern Macedonia to visit Montenegro in the 2021 tourist season,” Milojko Spajic posted.
He didn’t mention the exact day when the borders would open.
In March, President of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic called on the government to close its borders and impose severe restrictive measures because of the increased number of coronavirus cases.
Previously, to enter Montenegro, Ukrainian tourists were obliged to have a negative PCR test taken 72 hours in advance and a proof of vaccination with the second dose of vaccine at least 7 days in advance.
As for other Balkan countries, Serbia requires a negative PCR test no later than 48 hours before entry, and Albania is fully open to visitors.
