More than 200 servicemen of the Russian Federation were killed during hostilities in the area of Ilovaisk (Donetsk region) in 2014, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported.

“If talking about Ilovaisk and fighting near Ilovaisk, I want to say that the number of 200 killed servicemen of the regular Russian Armed Forces has been confirmed by our activities, and is still being confirmed,” Head of the Department for Civil and Military Cooperation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksiy Nozdrachov said at a press conference in Kyiv on August 28.

“In general, speaking for the entire period of fighting in the summer of 2014 and until the end of 2014, the number of killed servicemen of the Russian Federation is 1,700 people,” he added.

More than 300 Russian servicemen were injured during the events near Ilovaisk in August 2014, according to the information, which was provided to journalists at a press conference at the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
