A group of deputies propose to amend the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and establish responsibility for manifestations of sexism in society.

Corresponding bill No. 4599 was registered by deputies in the parliament, the website of the Verkhovna Rada reports.

The bill proposes to expand the range of offenses for which administrative detentions are carried out, adding “sexism”.

The explanatory note says that the bill is aimed at establishing administrative responsibility, the time frame for imposing administrative charges in case of manifestation of sexism, as well as granting the internal affairs bodies, in particular the National Police, the authority to carry out administrative detention of a person who committed such an offense.

This bill is directly related to bill (No. 4598) “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Prohibition of Sexism in Society,” which introduces the concept of “sexism” and establishes a ban on its manifestations, also registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
