The National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP) has started verifying the declarations of fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and current President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

“The verification of the declarations of the persons who held the post of the president of Ukraine in 2019: Volodymyr Zelensky and Petro Poroshenko (declarations for 2018 and 2019) has started,” the agency said on Facebook.

The National Agency for Corruption Prevention started verifying the declarations of Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko, former Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Dmytro Dubilet, former Minister of Health Illia Yemets, former Minister of Defense Andriy Zahorodniuk, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin and former Minister of Culture Yevhen Nyschuk.

The declarations of Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleksiy Kucher and a number of other officials will also be verified.

Declarations for verification are determined by the new control procedure.

The main reason for the verification is the high position of the subject of declaration, and all persons who held such positions in 2019 are checked, even if at the time of the check they are not top officials.

Other possible grounds for verification include information about a possible violation from citizens, media, legal entities, the established discrepancy between the official’s standard of living and the declared property and income, the identification of inconsistencies based on the results of logical and arithmetic control, as well as the filing of a declaration by the subject with fields marked with the tag “A family member did not provide information.”
