You're reading: Nagorno-Karabakh shows Ukrainians, West that ‘frozen’ conflicts do not exist, this should not be in Donbas – Zelensky

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that based on the example of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh, Ukrainians and Ukraine’s western partners should understand that there are no “just ‘frozen’ conflicts.”

“I would like our state, our media and our society, and especially our Western partners to pay attention to this issue that there are no ‘frozen’ conflicts for no reason. They simply do not exist. This is the example for you. Why? As it can be frozen for a while,” he said at a briefing in Chernivtsi oblast on Oct. 2.

Zelensky believes that there can be no “frozen” conflict in Donbas. “As it will be later, it does not matter whether it is a sabotage or a provocation, but it will still be an ‘explosion,’ even if 30 years have passed since there was a war in one place or another on our planet. Therefore, it is needed to resolve issues quickly,” he said.
