Narodnyi Front initiates creation of new parliamentary majority

Ukrainian members of parliament of the Verkhovna Rada, the Supreme Council of Ukraine, vote on a bill in Kyiv on Dec. 6, 2018, to terminate the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership with Russia from April 1, 2019.

Maksym Burbak, the leader of the second largest faction in the Verkhovna Rada, Narodnyi Front (the People’s Front), has announced the faction’s withdrawal from the parliamentary coalition.

“We hereby declare our withdrawal from the coalition and termination of its activity as of May 17, 2019, and initiate the creation of a new coalition with a new agenda,” Burbak said at a Rada plenary meeting on May 17.
