Kyiv District Administrative Court has received a lawsuit on recognizing illegal and voiding the September 26 decision of Ukraine’s National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting (council) on refusing to extend 112.Ukraine’s broadcasting license.
“A lawsuit was filed in which the plaintiffs dispute the decision of council not to extend 112.Ukraine’s broadcasting license,” the court’s press service said.
The plaintiffs said five television and radio companies broadcast under the 112.Ukraine emblem.
As reported, on Sept. 26, the council decided not to extend the validity of digital licenses of five television companies that broadcast with under the 112.Ukraine logo.
The regulator claims that Novy TV Format LLC, Ariadna TV LLC, Partner TV LLC, TV Vybor LLC and Leader TV LLC (all in Kyiv) do not comply with the license terms regarding the broadcast programming concept and changed broadcasting format from entertainment-informational to informational.
In addition, the National Council draws attention to the fact that the logos of these companies use only part of the 112.Ukraine logo.
“This is not about the satellite channel 112. It continues to broadcast. It’s about the channels that six years ago arbitrarily changed the concept of programs. All of them are registered in Kyiv. The competition provided for the provision of information from regional companies. For five years, these the channels relayed the 112 satellite channel. The approved conditions say that they have a completely different logo. Therefore, they didn’t even comply with the TV screen logo requirements, council deputy head Uliana Feschuk said.
