The National Guard of Ukraine has begun to develop its Doctrine, the document is focused on compatibility with the doctrines of NATO partner countries, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

As reported on the agency’s Facebook page Monday night, Jan. 4, the representatives of the Doctrine and Education Advisory Group (DEAG) at U.S. Embassy Kyiv Ukraine held a seminar on the development of the National Guard of Ukraine institutional doctrine according to approaches of military formations of NATO countries.

“The National Guard of Ukraine has a number of documents that define its activities, there is a Concept and there is planning at different levels, but there is no such document as a doctrine that is applied in the military structures of NATO member states and defines the role and place of military command and control bodies, commanders (chiefs) at all levels, the procedure and principles of interaction within the structure at the strategic, operational and tactical levels to organize the implementation of daily tasks and ensure preparation for the fulfillment of tasks in the future. It is important that the doctrine of the National Guard of Ukraine does not contradict national regulatory documents on both defense and security issues and is consistent with the doctrines of the partner countries,” the press service of the department quoted a representative of the group of advisors on doctrine and education.

Representatives of the Canadian Armed Forces in Ukraine (Operation UNIFIER) took part in the workshop together with the DEAG Group.

The start of work on the development of the Doctrine with the participation of American and Canadian colleagues is scheduled for early 2021.
