You're reading: National Police puts owner of Agroinvest Group on wanted list

The National Police of Ukraine has put the owner of Agroinvest Group Mykola Kucherenko and his son Vitaliy on the wanted list, reads a posting on the website of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine.

According to the ministry, the court ruled to detail Mykola and Vitaliy Kucherenkos with the aim of arrest.

Both Kucherenkos are charged with appropriation and embezzlement of assets. They are facing a sentence from seven to twelve years with confiscation of property and an occupational ban for three years.

According to the unified court register, several agricultural companies sued Agroinvest Group, in particular, international traders Soufflet, Bunge, Quadra Commodities, as well as Delta Wilmar, Grain Export, banks TAScombank and Raiffeisen Bank Aval.

As reported, on February 1, 2019, the Agrarian Fund initiated a pretrial investigation into the probable theft of grain worth UAH 200 million. The employees of the Agrarian Fund were not allowed to enter six silos of Agroinvest Group, with which PJSC has an agreement to store wheat, corn and sunflower. The management of the company did not get in touch.

According to preliminary estimations, Agroinvest Group’s contractors lost $120-200 million as a result of its actions.

The Agroinvest Group cultivates about 30,000 hectares of land in Odesa region. The owner of the holding is Mykola Kucherenko, the director is Andriy Fedianin.
