NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg will speak in the Ukrainian parliament on October 30-31 during a visit by the North Atlantic Council to Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, said in an interview with the newspaper Sehodnia (Today).

“The North Atlantic Council will have a very busy agenda during the visit. There will be a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky and a speech by the NATO Secretary-General in the Ukrainian parliament. There will also be a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission. There will be a maximum number of meetings,” Kuleba said.

According to him, a meeting of the Ukrainian Commission on the coordination of Euro-Atlantic integration will also be held within the framework of the visit.

“NATO’s Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Politics and Security, Ambassador Bettina Kadenbach will take part in the meeting,” said the deputy prime minister.

Answering a journalist’s question of whether the North Atlantic Council plans a trip to Donbas, Kuleba answered in the negative but confirmed that a visit to Odesa would take place.

“This visit is an extremely powerful signal of support for Ukraine. We insisted that it should take place. We are preparing very carefully for it, getting ready things done. Four NATO ships enter the port of Odesa for this event. A series of briefings for the North Atlantic Council will take place in Odesa on security in the Black Sea region, on Russian aggression against our state,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

As reported, the North Atlantic Council visits Ukraine on October 30 and October 31, 2019.

“A session of the Ukraine-NATO commission will be held with the participation of the president of Ukraine. Reforms will be in the spotlight, as well as the security situation in Ukraine, both in the east, the illegally occupied Crimea and the Black Sea,” Head of the NATO Representation to Ukraine Alexander Vinnikov said.
