The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) will launch a commercial model of using the BankID electronic NBID system for individuals on July 1, the NBU press service said on Wednesday.
“From July 1, 2020, a model of commercial use of the system will work, which will allow identifying banks to receive fees from subscribers who provide services (banking, financial or commercial) in the amount of Hr 20 for each successful identification of a user,” the regulator said.
Administrative and public services will not be charged, and for users of the system services they will remain free of charge.
In addition, the central bank announced a new function in the BankID system of the NBU – remote opening of bank accounts, without visits to the bank branch and personal meetings with bank agents.
The regulator recalled that since the beginning of 2020, seven banks and nine non-bank participants, service providers, joined the system.
