You're reading: New Europe: Ukraine to re-seal its borders as corona cases continue to spike

Ukraine’s prime minister Denis Shmyhal on Aug. 27 announced that the country will close its borders for foreigners from August 29 due to a spike in the coronavirus infections.

The ban will last until October 31 and can be expanded, Shmyhal said, adding that foreign nationals with a Ukrainian residence permit and members of international and humanitarian missions will be exempted.
