The National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine will hold an unscheduled check of the NewsOne channel due to statements containing signs of stirring up animosity and hatred that were broadcast by the TV channel on Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation.

On May 8-10, the watchdog registered the statements violating the laws of Ukraine on television and radio broadcasting and on information in the Protystoyannia program.

According to the national council, the statements were made about serving of numerous Jews in the army of the Third Reich and the existence of Jewish SS divisions and “contained signs of rejection and misinterpretation of the Holocaust, which undermined the grounds of European civilizations, triggered animosity against the Jewish people which suffered millions of victims as a results of activities of the SS divisions and other Nazi formations.”

The check will be held after the quarantine.
