MINSK – As many as 24,873 people in Belarus have been diagnosed with the new coronavirus infection as of May 12, the Belarusian Health Ministry said.
Another 967 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 over the past 24 hours alone, the Health Ministry said.
“Over the entire period of the infection’s spread around the country, 142 people diagnosed with the coronavirus infection and with a number of chronic diseases have died (135 on May 11),” the ministry said.
The number of patients earlier diagnosed with COVID-19 who have recovered and been discharged from hospital has grown to 6,974 from 6,531 between May 11 and 12, it said.
Belarus has conducted a total of 284,445 coronavirus tests, the ministry said.
“Express testing based on medical indications has been arranged in all regions to identify those who have come through the coronavirus infection,” it said.
