The number of registered unemployed people in Ukraine increased by 25,900 over last week, to 431,900 people, the State Employment Service told Interfax-Ukraine on April 27.
“As of April 27, 2020, the number of unemployed people registered by the employment service is 431,900, which is almost 119,000, or 38%, more than on the same date last year,” the press service of the State Employment Service said.
Since the beginning of the quarantine, which was introduced from March 12 until April 24, some 127,400 people received the status of unemployed.
According to the employment service’s statistics, on April 21, some 6,000 unemployed people were registered, on Wednesday – 6,200, on Thursday – 7,100, on Friday – 6,600.
