You're reading: Number of people optimistic about developments in Ukraine keeps growing

One-third of Ukrainians are of the view that Ukraine is developing in the right direction, so continuing a trend that emerged earlier in 2019, the Sociological Group Rating said in presenting the findings of a poll of 2,000 respondents it conducted on May 16-21.

The poll showed that 30 percent of Ukrainians said the country is moving in the right direction, while 49 percent hold the opposite view.

“The trend toward sentiments changing for the better has continued since the start of the year. There is a relatively larger proportion of people who see the state of affairs in the country optimistically among those living in the west of Ukraine, younger respondents, and the voters of the Petro Poroshenko Solidarity Bloc and [Svyatoslav] Vakarchuk’s party [Voice],” Rating said in a press release.
