Over the past week, the State Employment Service of Ukraine registered 12,800 new unemployed people, but the total number decreased over the week by 5,700 people, to 506,400.
The State Employment Service told Interfax-Ukraine that the number of unemployment assistance recipients also decreased by 4,500 people over the week to 426,400 unemployed people.
However, this indicator of the number of unemployment assistance recipients is still 84.5% higher year-over-year, and the total number of unemployed people is almost 80%, according to the service’s data.
In general, during lockdown period, the service registered 395,300 new unemployed people and started paying assistance to 325,500 unemployed people.
