You're reading: Odesa Update – Russian invaders step up military pressure

Today, March 21, before 8 am, some households on the Odesa shore were damaged by shelling of the city from two warships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

This was announced by the press officer of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Serhiy Bratchuk. Fortunately, no casualties or wounded are reported.

Videos of the attack confirmed that the shelling was carried out by two ships of the frigate class. Their shells mostly fell into the water.

The Ukrainian defenders returned fire, after which one of the Russian ships may have been damaged. Both vessels moved away quickly from the shore.

Yesterday, around 7:00 pm, the Russian army was reported to have stepped up the use of drones.
Enemy UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) were detected over the city and the region but were successfully shot down by the air defense of Odesa, according to Maksym Marchenko, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
