Russian-led forces have mounted nine attacks on the Ukrainian Joint Forces in Donbas since the beginning of May 31; one Ukrainian soldier has been wounded in action.

“As of 6:00 p.m. on May 31, the situation in the zone of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) was under control. The Russian occupation forces violated the ceasefire nine times. As of 6:00 p.m., one Ukrainian soldier had received a minor wound,” the JFO’s press center said in an update on May 31 evening.

Russia-backed separatists resorted to heavy weapons four times, they used 122mm artillery systems and 120mm and 82mm mortars.

The hot spots were the villages of Chermalyk and Pavlopil, where the Ukrainian army was actively defending itself.
