Soldiers taking part in the multinational Rapid Trident 2017 military exercise, which began in Lviv region on September 11, practiced handling weapons and military hardware that will be used during maneuvers, as well as safety measures, the Rapid Trident 2017 joint press center has said.

“Leaders of the exercise at training areas demonstrated to the soldiers of various countries Ukrainian military gear and weapons, simulation devices, and introduced participants to rules for using explosives and explosive devices, primary signs and signals which will be used during the drills. They were also instructed about conditions for using the tactical engagement simulation system MILES. In addition, they were instructed in first aid,” the press service said on September 11.

Rapid Trident 2017 involves approximately 2,500 personnel from 15 nations, including Bulgaria, Canada, Estonia, Italy, Georgia, Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

It supports joint combined interoperability among Ukraine, the U.S., and allied and partner nations.
