Parliament Speaker Andriy Parubiy has welcomed European allies of Ukraine who have become members of the European Parliament (MEPs).
“Elections to the European Parliament have been held. Despite pessimistic forecasts, political forces which stand for the unity of Europe and support Ukraine against Russia have been elected,” he said.
Parubiy said he sends special congratulations to Christian Democrats, who won seats to represent Lithuania, led by Andrius Kubilius, whom he described as a “big friend” of Ukraine.
“He is the author of a new European plan for Ukraine, a program for providing massive financial assistance to our government,” Parubiy said.
