Pechersky District Court of Kyiv has sent the materials of the case against former Prime Minister of Ukraine (2010-2014) Mykola Azarov to the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine, according to the website of the Judiciary of Ukraine.

“Today, on Feb. 5, 2020, the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court has considered an appeal filed by the defense lawyer of the suspects in case No. 757/40117/19-k, in which the defendant is the Prime Minister of Ukraine [who was in office] in 2010-2014, against the ruling of Pechersky District Court dated Dec. 5, 2019,” reads the statement.

Following the consideration, the panel of judges ruled to annul the ruling of Pechersky District Count and send the materials on the appeal filed by the defense lawyer to the High Anti-Corruption Court for consideration under the procedure established in the court.

“The ruling comes into force from the moment of its proclamation and is not subject to any appeal,” reads the statement.

Azarov held the position of Prime Minister of Ukraine from March 11, 2010 until Jan. 28, 2014. He left Ukraine after the EuroMaidan Revolution and currently lives in Russia.
