Lviv Correctional Facility No. 48 has been put up for auction at a starting price of Hr 132.6 million, Ukrainian Justice Minister Denys Maliuska said.

“The grand sale of prisons is continuing. Lviv’s Lot No. 1 is Lviv Correctional Facility No. 48. It consists of around 100 real estate properties located on a plot of land of 10.7 hectares,” Maliuska said on Facebook on May 7 evening.

According to an announcement on the ProZorro.Prodazhi online public procurement platform, the auction has been set for June 3, 2021.

In February, the Ukrainian Justice Ministry announced plans to hold auctions to sell the assets of mothballed penitentiaries across the country to private owners as part of a largescale prison privatization program.
