Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov has described reports published on various online news resources that presidential aide Vyacheslav Surkov has tendered his resignation as rumors and declined to comment on them.

“You know that we normally do not comment on any rumors concerning our staff,” Peskov said when asked whether the Kremlin plans to replace Surkov as a negotiator on Ukraine in the wake of Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk’s decision to quit as Kyiv’s mediator in talks with Moscow.
