MOSCOW – Russian President Vladimir Putin has been informed about the proposal made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to meet in Donbas, but he most likely has not had the time to look at it due to working on his address to the Federal Assembly, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
“The president was promptly informed about it, but I’m not currently certain that he’s had time to look at it. He worked on the text of his address most of last night. If he finds the time to look, that will be reported, one way or another,” Peskov said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station.
Certain preconditions are necessary for such a meeting, he said.
There have not been any official requests from Kyiv for a meeting with Putin recently, Peskov said.
Zelensky earlier offered to meet with Putin at any place in Donbas.
