You're reading: Prosecutor says NABU starts investigating activities of Gontareva, Vorushylin

National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has started the pretrial investigation against Head of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriya Gontareva and Head of the Individuals Deposit Guarantee Fund Kostiantyn Vorushylin, prosecutor of the Prosecutor General’s Office Vladyslav Kutsenko wtrote on his Facebook page.

A copy of an official letter, written by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (PGO) in its address to people’s deputy Serhiy Sobolev (Batkivschyna faction), says: NABU has included bulletins into the Unified Register of pretrial investigations and started a pretrial investigation into the grounds of a criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 365-2 (abuse of powers by authorized persons providing public services) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Persons are not specified in the copy of the letter in whose respect the pretrial investigation has been started: “the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office under the PGO has reviewed your appeal regarding the results of the consideration of the report of the PGO’s employee Vladyslav Kutsenko on the possible violations of the current legislation in the banking sector on the part of service officials of the National Bank of Ukraine and the Individuals Deposit Guarantee Fund while performing the valuation activities of the liquidated banks’ assets and on other matters.”
