Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has welcomed the United States Senate Resolution calling on the Secretary of State to designate the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Twitter, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“An important resolution of the United States Senate. Thanks to Kamala Harris and the Yermak-McFaul sanctions group, we are getting closer to recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism,” Shmyhal wrote.

In his words, Russia proved this status long time ago, dropping bombs on Ukrainian cities.

“Call on our partners to accept this decision. It is necessary to stop Russia,” Shmyhal stressed.

A reminder that the U.S. Senate unanimously adopted a non-binding resolution calling on the U.S. Department of State to designate the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism.
