You're reading: Police investigating into grenade explosion in office of Opposition Platform

Under a preliminary data, a young woman that was inside the office of Opposition Platform – For Life party in Poltava could have been hurt when the unknown persons have thrown a grenade in it, a press service of police in Poltava region reported.

“At 6 p.m., the police received information that a grenade was thrown into the office of the Opposition Platform – For Life party. An operative investigation team is working on the spot,” a press service told Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

At the same time, doctors are establishing if the injuries the girl received are grave ones.

The law enforcement agencies are looking into the circumstances of what happened.

Earlier, MP Illya Kyva, a representative of the Opposition Platform – For Life faction, said that a grenade was thrown into the office of the Poltava city organization on July 3, suggesting that “representatives of nationalist groups” did it. He attached a video of a smoky office space to the post.

Later on, the politician said that there were no victims.

“The man in a mask ran to the building where the office is located on the ground floor, and threw a grenade through the open window. The secretary of the office miraculously survived because she just went out to wash her hands. If the girl was in this room, she would die,” said Kyva.
