The police have opened an attempted assassination case after an explosion of a car that injured a driver of the car in Kamianske (Dnipropetrovsk region).
As reported by the police department of Dnipropetrovsk region, on Thursday, August 2, about 15.25 at the crossroads of Moskvoretska and Sachko streets, a Volkswagen car exploded while being driven by a 49-year-old man. The driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to the city hospital.
Investigators and bomb-disposal experts worked on the site. All necessary examinations and other investigative actions were carried out. Employees of the Department of Strategic Research and Analysis of the National Police are involved in the investigation of the crime.
Criminal proceedings are open under Part 2 of Article 15, Paragraph 5 of Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (attempted murder committed by a method dangerous to the lives of many persons).
As reported by local Internet publications, in Kamianske (the former Dniprodzerzhinsk) on Thursday afternoon there was a minibus explosion, injuring Deputy of the Kamianske City Council from the Batkivschyna party, Director of the municipal enterprise Tramvai Vitaliy Cherniavsky, known for his volunteer activity in the zone of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO).
He was taken to the city emergency hospital. According to the head physician, the doctors are doing everything possible to save him. The condition of the victim is “hard, the left arm and left leg were badly affected.”
