You're reading: Police reports 7 people died, 4 gone missing as result of wildfires

Seven people died as a result of large wildfires in the forestlands of Luhansk region, four more are considered missing, the regional police said on the Facebook page as of Tuesday 15:00.

In addition, 18 victims of the wildfires were hospitalized.

During October 1, some 50 people were interrogated and recognized as victims, damage to 550 households, some 136 household structures, some 12 vehicles, the death of three heads of livestock was found.

In total, from September 30 to October 2, some 267 reports of wildfires were registered, investigators opened ten criminal proceedings.

Currently, the region continues to extinguish wildfires in Novoaidarsky, Starobilsky, Popasniansky, Kremensky and Stanychno-Luhansky districts, in the areas of towns Severodonetsk, Lysychansk and Rubizhne.
