You're reading: Poll: 5 parties likely to make it into Rada, Batkivchyna in the lead

Five political parties will be able to cross the five-percent threshold to enter the Verkhovna Rada in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Ukraine, a poll conducted by the Sociopolis Institute of Social Technologies has shown.

The results of the poll were announced at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine news agency on November 22.

38.1 percent of the people polled said they would definitely go to vote in the parliamentary elections if the elections were to be held next Sunday. 37 percent said they would most likely go to vote, 8.6% said they would most likely not go, 12.6 percent said they would definitely not go, and 3.7 percent of the people polled could not provide an answer.

According to the results of the poll, the All-Ukrainian Union Batkivschyna (Fatherland) party will get support from 20.6 percent of the people who have already made up their mind and are going to vote in the parliamentary elections (16.5 percent of the total number of people polled.)

Also, the Servant of the People party is likely to get 11.8% of the vote (10.3 percent of the total number of the people polled), Anatoliy Hrytsenko’s Civil Stance party is likely to get 8.4 percent (6.5 percent), the Opposition Bloc is likely to get 8 percent (6.4 percent), the Petro Poroshenko’s Bloc Solidarity is supported by 6.7 percent (5.8 percent).

They are followed by Oleh Liashko’s Radical Party, the Samopomich Union party, the For Life party, and Yevhen Murayev’s party Ours, whose support ranges from 4.7 percent до 4.1 percent.

The poll was conducted by the Sociopolis Institute of Social Technologies from November 8 to 16, 2018. A total of 2403 people aged above 18 years were polled in all the regions of Ukraine except for Crimea and Russia-occupied territories in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The statistical error is no more than 2 percent for figures close to 50 percent, 1.7 percent for figures close to 25 percent, 1,2 percent for figures close to 10 percent and 0,9 percent for figures close to 5 percent.
