Every third Ukrainian (33%) positively evaluates the decision of the Verkhovna Rada to resign Arsen Avakov from the post of minister of internal affairs of Ukraine, according to the results of a survey conducted by the sociological service of the Razumkov Center from July 29 to August 4.

At the same time, 15% of respondents assessed this resignation negatively, and 37% were indifferent. Some 15% of respondents found it difficult to answer.

At the same time, only every tenth (10%) expects an improvement in the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs after Avakov’s resignation and the appointment of Denys Monastyrsky as minister of internal affairs. Some 13% expect deterioration, and the relative majority (41%) of respondents express the opinion that nothing will change. Some 36% found it difficult to answer.

The attitude towards Avakov’s resignation does not differ fundamentally between supporters of various political forces: the majority of supporters of each of the political forces assess this event more positively than negatively. But among the voters of the Servant of the People party, this difference is maximal (25%), among the voters of the Opposition Platform – For Life party, it is 16%, among the voters of the European Solidarity party – 10%, and among the voters of the Batkivschyna party – 9%.

The survey was conducted by the method of face-to-face interviews at the place of residence of 2,019 respondents aged 18 and over in all government-controlled regions of Ukraine. The sample represents the adult population in terms of basic socio-demographic indicators. The theoretical sampling error (excluding the design effect) does not exceed 2.3% with a probability of 0.95.
