Entertainer Volodymyr Zelenskiy would defeat incumbent Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in the second round of the presidential election in the country, according to the results of the poll conducted by the international company Greenberg Quinlan Rosner (GQR) and Ukrainian company InfoSapiens and published on the website of the Novoye Vremya media on Saturday.
Fifty-two percent of respondents would vote for Zelenskiy and 44 percent for Poroshenko.
Those are the Ukrainians, who are planning to vote, including some undecided respondents, who defined their preferences.
If Zelenskiy runs against Batkivshchyna party leader Yulia Tymoshenko in the second round, he would win by a larger margin, 55 percent to 41 percent.
According to the poll, Zelenskiy lost 13 percent of potential support in the second round in the past month, while Poroshenko, on the contrary, gained 10 percent. In comparison to Tymoshenko, the support to the entertainer decreased by 8 percent in the past month, while the Batkivshchyna leader gained 4 percent.
The poll was conducted on Feb. 23-March 4. InfoSapiens conducted the field stage of the survey, interviews among 1,308 participants, and the GQR analyzed the data. The margin of error is 3.6 percent
