Secretary of State Michael Pompeo spoke on phone with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and discussed Ukraine, a situation in the Middle East and efforts to combat COVID-19.

“Secretary Pompeo and Foreign Minister Maas discussed ongoing efforts to combat COVID-19. The Secretary and Foreign Minister also discussed U.S.-German coordination on a range of global challenges to counter Russia’s continued aggression against Ukraine, and to resist Iran’s destabilizing actions in the Middle East,” according to the readout of their call posted on the website of the U.S. Department of State.
