President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said joint control checkpoints with customs and border authorities of EU countries should be established as quickly as possible.

“At customs, up to 30 percent of customs declarations are already registered through a ‘single window.’ But this is not enough. It is necessary to establish a system for the exchange of customs information with the countries of the European Union as soon as possible. It demands joint control at checkpoints with customs and border authorities of the EU countries,” the president said speaking with an annual message at the Parliament on Sept. 7.

He also said that simple reconciliation of data, customs clearance in Ukraine with EU countries will become a real anti-corruption tool.
