Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko has signed laws on ratification of Ukraine’s intergovernmental agreements with Croatia, Latvia and Turkey on cooperation in investment protection, international transportation and right to work for family members of employees of diplomatic missions.

According to the press service of the head of state, Poroshenko signed the law on ratification of an additional protocol between the governments of Ukraine and Croatia introducing amendments to the intergovernmental agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments. The document provides investors of Ukraine and Croatia with the most favorable investment regime, including strengthening investment protection measures and using internationally recognized procedures for settling disputes between investors.

At the same time, the law contains the Ukrainian side’s statement regarding the non-application of the provisions of the agreement in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, since Kyiv will not be able to guarantee effective control and protection of investments in these territories until the Ukrainian jurisdiction over them is fully restored.

Poroshenko also signed the law on ratification of the agreement (in the form of an exchange of notes) between the governments of Ukraine and Latvia regarding employment of family members of employees of diplomatic missions and consular offices.

The document provides for the right to work for family members of Ukrainian and Latvian diplomatic service employees on the territory of Ukraine and Latvia.

In addition, the head of state signed the law on ratification of the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Turkey on international combined transport.

The implementation of the agreement will simplify the conditions for the transportation of goods using various modes of transport, in particular road, rail and/or water. The document will promote the development of cooperation in the field of international combined transport and help attract additional cargo flows, which will make it possible to make better use of the potential of transport infrastructures of both countries.
