President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman welcome the European Union’s decision to extend sanctions against Russia for another six months.

“I am sincerely grateful for the unwavering unity and solidarity of the European leaders in the restoration of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, with Crimea inclusively. Despite manipulation and hybrid propaganda, Russia was unable to escape responsibility for the continued aggression in Donbas and unwillingness to fulfill the Minsk agreements,” a statement says posted on the official website of the Ukrainian president.

Poroshenko says that the Russian Federation should also “pay a high price for the terrible war crimes, which are supported and perpetrated in Syria by this state, especially in Aleppo.”

Groysman championed the decision with a post on his Facebook page.

In his words, the European Community correctly responds to the aggressor’s crimes, which should take the consequences of its anti-Ukrainian actions.
