You're reading: Poroshenko and Lukashenko holding talks in Kyiv

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko are meeting at the Presidential Administration in Kyiv.

Lukashenko arrived in Ukraine on July 21 as part of his official visit to Ukraine, where he was met by the Ukrainian president, the guard of honor and the orchestra in front of the entrance, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.

The hymns of the two countries were sounded, after which Poroshenko and Lukashenko went to the Presidential Administration to hold talks.

It is planned that during the talks the presidents of the two countries will discuss the development of political, trade-economic and humanitarian cooperation between Belarus and Ukraine.

Most attention will be paid to the current state and prospects of interaction in the economy, including in such areas as trade, investment, industrial cooperation, petrochemical complex, energy, agriculture, transport and logistics, development of interregional dialogue.

It is also planned to agree on approaches to further developing cross-border cooperation.

It is expected that following the results of the talks, a number of documents on cooperation in different spheres will be signed in the presence of the two presidents.
