You're reading: Poroshenko says IMF approves another $1 billion loan installment to Ukraine

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that the Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has decided to allocate the next tranche in the amount of $1 billion to Ukraine.

“The IMF Board has decided to allocate $1 billion to Ukraine, this is the recognition of Ukrainian reforms,” Poroshenko wrote on his Facebook page.

Since 2015, Ukraine has been implementing a four-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program, under which Ukraine expects to receive about $17 billion through 2018. The size of the next, fourth tranche is $1 billion.
