President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko says he will hold consultations with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and world leaders on Monday in connection with Russian aggression in the Kerch Strait.
“We’re appealing to our partner countries under the Budapest Memorandum, who committed themselves to ensure the protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity and independence of our state. We’re appealing to the countries of the European Union, including the participants in the Normandy format [Germany and France] … so that we can coordinate our actions that would ensure the protection of Ukraine. And we’re appealing to the entire pro-Ukrainian world coalition: we must join forces. I’ve placed a request for talks with the NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, for tomorrow morning [November 26] – these talks will be held, this has already been confirmed. Tomorrow [November 26] there will be consultations with the leaders of other countries,” Poroshenko said at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council in Kyiv in the early hours of November 26.
