Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko said he will travel to Istanbul with the newly-elected leader of the “local Orthodox Church,” Metropolitan Epiphany of Kyiv and All Ukraine, to receive the tomos.
Metropolitan Epiphany, “together with the Ukrainian president, will go to Constantinople in early January and receive the long-awaited tomos,” Poroshenko said at Saint Sophia Square in Kyiv on Saturday while introducing the leader of the new church.
