At a conciliation council, the fifth president of Ukraine, leader of the European Solidarity party Petro Poroshenko called for criminal liability for fraud with vaccines against coronavirus (COVID-19), the press service of the political force said.

“I am firmly convinced that we must maintain transparency and criminalize the violation of queues – who should be vaccinated, starting exclusively from risk groups,” Poroshenko said.

He also said the deputy corps should not be limited to short-term tasks, but also deal with the strategic challenges facing the country, primarily in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I would really like the content of our speeches to concern not only this current plenary week but also the strategy of the Verkhovna Rada’s actions in the face of challenges and crises that Ukraine finds itself in for the whole of 2021,” Poroshenko said.

He also stressed the fundamental importance of the strategy to overcome the pandemic for the country.

“The first point is total testing. After that, effective monitoring of those who are ill, free medicines, free beds supplied with oxygen,” Poroshenko said.

He said that taking into account those who have already been ill and have antibodies, the number of citizens in need of priority vaccination has decreased.

“We must complete the vaccination by September, and now the government must ensure that vaccinations with safe medicines start as soon as possible,” Poroshenko said.

According to him, it is necessary, following the example of the Affordable Medicines Program, to limit the maximum price for tests and medicines.
