Former deputy head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine in the times of Viktor Yanukovych, Andriy Portnov, has said he intends to come for questioning to the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine.

“I read in the media that I was summoned to the PGO on the Maidan case. I will definitely come. I never had the opportunity to be in the spot of criminals’ activities,” he wrote on his Facebook page on May 21.

Earlier on this day, head of the special investigations department of the Prosecutor General’s Office Serhiy Horbatiuk told the hromadske.ua ezine that Portnov’s interrogation is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on May 27. The former deputy head of the Presidential Administration is to be questioned as a witness in the case of EuroMaidan Revolution.

As reported, on May 20, Portnov said he had concluded a contract with police on providing his personal security.

“I feel safe. Of course, I have turned to the relevant organizations to this end due to regular threats. For that reason, I have concluded an official contract with police agencies. Police officials armed with automatic weapons are ensuring my security,” he said.
