Portugal has opened its borders to all Ukrainian travelers for the period of July 26 to Aug. 8, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba announced on July 25.
To enter Portugal, Ukrainians over 12 years old have to provide a negative PCR test done 72 hours before entry, a negative rapid antigen test done 48 hours before entry or a COVID-certificate showing vaccination issued in any European Union (EU) country.
All passengers coming to mainland Portugal must fill in a special form.
Travelers traveling to Portugal on flights from Brazil, South Africa, India, Nepal and the U.K. have to self-isolate for 14 days and fill in a special form.
Madeira and the Azores are open to Ukrainian citizens for any purpose, including visa-free travel.
To travel to the islands of Madeira, travelers must register. Travelers to Madeira must also either have a negative PCR test, a COVID-certificate issued in the EU, or proof of recovery from COVID-19.
Ukrainians who are traveling to the Azores islands have to fill out a questionnaire. Travelers to Azores must provide either negative PCR test, or a COVID-certificate validated in the EU.
EU countries review their regulations for travelers at least once every two weeks, so it is recommended to check all requirements before traveling.
