Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Yulia Sokolovska has met with representatives of UNICEF social projects to discuss solutions for a range of social issues related to the consequences of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Ukraine.

“They focused on social aid and patronage of the most socially vulnerable groups of the population, as well as support for family-based care and children who returned to their families of origin,” the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine said on March 27.

The participants of the meeting noted that it is important to raise the status of social workers who work directly with families, ensure them with proper financing and provide them with personal protective equipment during the pandemic.

They also discussed the implementation of social programs aimed at state support for socially vulnerable families.
