Ukrzaliznytsia held the first English auctions this season in the ProZorro. Sale system for the transportation of goods with the company’s grain carriers, the price almost doubled.

As a result of the auctions, the cost of transportation with grain carriers doubled. The average price of recent auctions was Hr 1,004: the initial cost was Hr 540 per day for one car, and the ceiling price of some lots was Hr 1,400 per day for one car.

According to the acting Board Chairman of Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Kamyshin, the company has about 5,900 grain carriages in its working fleet.

“Ukrzaliznytsia has got a good result from the first try. Recent auctions have proved that we can receive additional income from the grain carriage distribution,” he said.

Kamyshin also said that in September actions will be held almost every day.

“Starting next month, the company will sell up to 80% of the fleet of scarce rolling stock through auctions. This will eliminate possible abuses in the distribution of wagons and we will receive additional income,” the head of the company said.
